We only know that his name is Ron and that he is the D&D chapter president in Richmond, Va. With Curtis hanging out of the Missing Saddle team car, we gave Ron a bit of a scare as he was setting off to the summit of Brass Town Bald in the rain. We took the opportunity to ask the crazy son of a bitch a couple of questions. Ron was prepared for about anything, even Armageddon. His beard was full, sun glasses on, bleached teeth grinning, and a back pack loaded with gear (walking shoes included). This guy was in for more adventure than anyone in the actual race, and with his D&D experience, we can only guess what roll he was playing on that rainy day. I'm guessing a Ranger, 12th level, with +48 damage long sword. The amazing thing about talking with Ron was how aggressive he was. He grabbed our car and looked into the open window but had to look over his Oakley Factory Pilots to speak to us. He then pushed the eye shields back over his nose bridge to continue. I write this in past tense because I don't even know if Ron survived. By looking at him one gets the impression that Ron has some kind of extra knowledge of the after life, or black helicopters — Ron had the crazy eyes that day. Did Ron make it to the top of Brass Town? Did Ron survive?
